Your stories about needing to increase output by 20% every year and people never being satisfied with just what they received last time really resonated with me and we should never forget those. Thanks very much for helping to make it a memorable day.

Once in a decade a business “How To” book comes along that really breaks the mould, and here it is. Cotterill knows the game and with skill and inside knowledge provides a perfect guide through the pitfalls of management and leadership. The Best Leaders Don’t Shout nails the course … it is a sheer delight. Cotterill has indeed been there and done most of it. His writing is concise and razor sharp and it reads like a novel, a guide book and a mentor to your business ambition. Don’t miss out.

An excellent handbook that reminds us of the distinction between management and leadership. The former is about sweat; the latter is more about vision, strategy and inspiration. Cotterill laces his prose with memorable aphorisms and intelligent reflections.  A very good read for reflective executives and eager students.

A budget for the country please.

Normally we have to wait until the budget comes out before we hear that most overused of post-budget phrases, “there’s nothing in the budget for me”. This time around, the serial compainers have beaten even the finance minister to it, with claims that there’s nothing...

It’s nice to see our political leaders playing a constructive role on the international stage again. Last week, we saw our Foreign Minister joining other global leaders in calling for both sides in the Israeli conflict with Palestine to give serious consideration to...

The Remuneration Authority is tone deaf

The latest announcements by the Remuneration Authority suggesting an increase in parliamentary salaries strikes me as a government department that is tone deaf to the state of the country and the needs of the people. Most of us are feeling the pressure brought about...
