I learnt a great deal out of the two days especially from Bruce’s stories. I walked around and talked to over 40 team members 4-5pm today. Feeling 10 feet tall and that’s actually one of the most enjoyable part of my career with ANZ to date.

As I mentioned to you when we spoke at conference, I found you to be very inspirational. I have implemented many of your principles back in my store and had great success. Every staff member is working towards the same goal, and we have a quick meeting every morning to reinstate the day’s objectives. As managers we know that simplicity is the key to running an effective business but we tend to over complicate things and end up getting confused about our focus, not to mention staff getting confused as well. Listening to you speak, it made me remember why keeping it simple is so important and reinstating that daily with your principles has been an enormous help to me since conference.

It was my highlight of the conference attending your presentation. …I consider the most relevant: “Be Clear about what you are trying to achieve – Real clarity makes decision making easier.”  This is what I took from your presentation and already it has made my life at Radio Rentals more streamlined. It does make decisions easier when my team and I have a clear goal and purpose.  I included your key points in last weeks branch team meeting and all my team were impressed with your insight.

Why we need a good dose of national pride.

It feels like we need a good dose of national pride. It’s been a challenging year in many ways. The end of a controversial government has left us almost unrecognisable from our 2017 selves. That government left us financially bereft and emotionally divided. Many New...

Too much working from home isn’t working

Last week’s Weekend Herald published a short article that highlighted the extent to which we are still grappling with life after Covid-19. The headline read, “Students win fight not to attend uni in person”. It said the Victoria University of Wellington Students’...
